More of Arts Week
This afternoon the children have been creating their own version of Kandinsky's 'Concentric rings'. They used hexagons, pentagons, squares and triangles. Kandinsky mostly used paint for his master pieces so we did the same.

Dinosaurs!!
This is a 'double-headed dinosaur' complete with opening and closing mouth (this was a child-initiated piece).

Arts week in Reception
This week we are celebrating art and our theme across the school is 'famous artists'. In Reception we are learning about Wassily Kandinsky. As Kandinsky used classical music as a starting point for his paintings, we listened to a piece of music by Wagner (Kandinsky's favourite). The music by Wagner inspired the children to talk about what feelings, colours and shapes it evoked. Today we looked at Kandinsky's most famous piece 'The concentric rings' and recreated our own version in the form of a tree.
Stay with us to find out more about our art this week!
Our new blog!!
Welcome to our Class blog. We will update this on a regular basis with the goings on of our class. Here you can find out what we've been learning about in all subject areas, look at some of our work and share it with your families and friends, near and far.
I will update the 'Phonics' section each week so you can see what we are learning in these sessions.
